April Newsletter 2009

Dear friend,

The Lord has been so faithful to us and I believe He has been the same to you. The team and I are progressing in the service of the Lord and excited about what He is doing in the youth we minister to.

Below is how you have been a blessing:

Counseling ministry
We cared for 22 pregnant girls of which 6 gave birth to healthy babies. Unfortunately, one of them called Jackie lost her baby a day after giving birth; please keep her in your prayers.

The girls have found joy, peace, comfort and acceptance at the center. Many have been able to forgive and make better choices for the future.

Starfish Programme
All the children in primary and secondary school are in their school holidays. It is a joy to see them and celebrate what God has done in their lives during the school term. There school performance was good and are very grateful for the opportunity you have given them to go to school.

Outreach Ministry
We reached 231 youth of which 48 committed their lives to the Lord while 50 committed to abstain from sex until marriage. We have been invited to two Compassion Projects to facilitate life skill classes though out the school holiday. We are so thankful to God for that. Through your prayers, we were able to get different life skill literature to distribute to youth from UK YFC and Life Ministry in Uganda.

Teenquest Programme

The sports programme has been going on well in Kivulu. The attendance has increased form 30 to 60 youth in the start of the holiday. Issues on team work and drugs were addressed during the half time.

Survivor Programme
The programme has been taking place at Uganda Christian University for over 3 years. However, many groups in the University have duplicated what we do so we have let them carry it on. We are working with the university chaplain on a new strategy on how to reach the university students and the surrounding communities.

Visitors
We received visitor’s from14th -15th from Youth For Christ- UK. They shared testimonies and prayed with the teenage mums and had Leadership Training for 7 young leaders and prayed with them too, they were all so blessed.

Marriage:
Teddy one of our staff got married to Eric on the 11th of April. It brought a lot of joy to us and the girls at the center.

All the youth that we have been able to reach this month, it’s because of your generosity. We will always be grateful for your love and kindness towards us and the youth we reach out to.

Blessings,

Miriam
