| August Newletter 2010 |
Dear friend, The month of August has been a blessing to me and the team. We have seen the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord through your prayers, generous giving and support. Below is how you have been a blessing: Counseling ministry We cared for 20 pregnant girls of which 5 gave birth to healthy babies. Unfortunately, one of the babies was born prematurely and dead. All the 5 who gave birth have been resettled. The Eastern Uganda center worked with 17 young mothers, 4 pregnant teenagers and 3 have been involved in bible study and tailoring.
Follow up visits One young mum was followed up this month. Her baby is now 2 months old. She is still strong in the Lord despite of the many challenges she is faced with.
Operation Hannah The mothers went to Kabwangasi in the Eastern part of the country where they ministered to 49 people, men and women. They handled topics such as righteousness, problems facing children and prayer. Starfish Programme Children have been in their holidays. We had discipleship and mentoring for young mothers and children on the program. They have all returned to school for the final school term of the year.
We had 30 young mothers attend a one day workshop at the center where they were ministered to by Sister Victoria Kisukye from Mutundwe Christian Fellowship. They were encouraged to leave in righteousness and wait on the Lord.
Suubi Home We have two young mothers who have joined the home this month making it a total of 5 young mothers and 4 children. They are all doing well and will be resuming school in the new month.
Outreach Ministry We reached 397 of which 42 committed their lives to the Lord and 23 committed to abstain from sex till marriage. Schools have been closed for holidays but the outreach team had an opportunity to facilitate at a 5 days camp organized by Christian Sports Contact one of the various ministries we are partnering with. The team ministered to over 340 young people from different parts of the country. They facilitated in counseling, praise and worship and participated in the different workshops.
Teenquest Programme The program has been active in the eastern program with 57 young people taking part during the holiday time. A two day tournament was organized and the winner out of the 6 teams taking part from different parts of the area won a goat. There was time to share the word by Matthias and 42 young people gave their lives to the Lord. 23 of them committed themselves to stay abstinent until marriage. We are blessed by the partnership we have with you. For the many young people and families that you have touched with your love and care, we will always be grateful.
